There is so much to see and do in the Borough of Macclesfield - the Peaks and Plains of Cheshire - that no-one need ever be bored.

The increasing number of visitors for days out, weekend breaks or longer holidays underlines the wide range of high-quality attractions which are available. Historic houses in abundance, the world-famous Jodrell Bank, two major award-winning museums at Quarry Bank Mill and the Macclesfield Silk Museum are all places which seek to entertain, amuse and educate their visitors.

The rolling Cheshire countryside stretching up into the Peak District National Park provides exercise and enjoyment for the casual walker as well as providing a well-marked network of paths & trails for the person who wishes to "get away from it all".

Villages and towns (none too large) offer a wide variety of shops and friendly, expert service. The network of hotels, restaurants and pubs provides somewhere to dine and stay after all the exercise and caters for every possible taste and price ranges from the down to earth "pie and a pint" to the finest international cuisine and a bewildering choice of wines.

Travel to this area could not be easier. There are two InterCity railway lines, Manchester Airport just ten minutes' drive away; and there are good motorway connections from the M6 and M56.
